Alerts

  • Please carefully note that the Park Permit Offices in Silver Spring and Germantown will be closed ALL DAY, on Tuesday October 14, 2008. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
  • The priority submission for Fall ball field applications ended July 1, 2008. We are continuing to accept applications on a first come first served basis. Have a successful season, your use and support of MC Parks are greatly appreciated!

Public Record for Athletic Field Fees Now Closed

NOTE: The public record for the athletic field fees closed on Monday, September 22. Many thanks for all of your comments and input. Staff hopes to present revised recommendations to the Board sometime in October. Once the date is determined, it will be posted here for your information. A full copy of the Board Packet presented at the September 15 meeting, including memo and attachments can be downloaded for review.

Fall 2008 window for accepting ball field applications

  • Recreation Departments (Montgomery County & Takoma Park) - May 15
  • Adopt-a-field Agreements, tournaments, one-time events, camps/clinics/classes etc. - June 1
  • Game field and practice application requests - June 1 to July 1
    NOTE: Applications received prior to June 1 will NOT be processed and the fees are non-refundable. (This does not apply to Montgomery County & Takoma Park Recreation Departments.)
  • 2008 Season Dates:
     Spring/Summer Ballfield Season: April 1- August 15
    Fall/Winter Ballfield Season: September 1- November 30

For information on special use permits or to learn more about our picnic shelters, park activity buildings, campgrounds, athletic fields, and other permitted locations, check out our directory of permitted facilities and services .

Please note the Commission Park Rules and Regulations while selecting the facility of your choice.

Making Reservations

An application form must be submitted to request a reservation for all permitted facilities. Application forms are available at our Permit Office locations or by clicking on the links below.

Application forms must be submitted with payment in one of four ways:

  • Online through our reservation system. For picnic shelters, group picnic areas, park activity buildings, Woodside Gymnasium or bus spaces, go to our general reservation system. For submission of athletic field practice requests, go to our ballfield reservation system.
    NOTE: Field availability is not available on our site, additionally, only practice requests may be submitted. If you don't know which facility you want to reserve, please search our directory of permitted facilities and services first.
  • Via fax (facsimile) to 301-495-2484. To apply via fax, via regular mail, or in person, you must complete a downloadable application form.
  • Via regular mail to the Park Permit Office in Silver Spring . To apply via fax, via regular mail, or in person, you must complete a downloadable application form.
  • In person at either Park Permit Office location. To apply via fax, via regular mail, or in person, you must complete a downloadable application form.

Please Note

Germantown Park Permit Office hours of operation

  • Closed Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Opened Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 8:30AM - 4PM for reservations only and until 4:30PM for key pickup/return. Additionally, the office is closed between 1pm-2pm for lunch on the opened days.

Fall and future use of the Germantown Community fields

Effective immediately please contact the Germantown Community center directly at 301-601-1680, Germantown Community Center, 18905 Kingsview Rd., Germantown.

Ballfield users of M-NCPPC Local Park school field sites

Effective immediately please contact Community Use of Public Facilities (CUPF) at 240-777-2706 regarding future use of the MC Park fields, surrounded by the following schools: Beverly Farms ES;  Bradley Hills ES; Burning Tree ES; Cannon Road ES; Farmland ES; Galway ES;  Garrett Park ES; Greenwood ES; Luxmanor ES; New Hampshire Estates ES; Newport Mill MS; Oakland Terrace ES; Parkland MS; Silver Spring International MS/Sligo Creek ES (Old Blair); Wood MS & Wood Acres ES. Additionally, these fields may not be used December 1 - March 31 and August 15 - August 31.
